First introduce your self to our readers. When you start play guitar and have an action part with music in general.
Hello brother - I first starting playing guitar in the mid 90's, I wanted to put an Oi! band together. Influences were The Business, 4 Skins, Last Resort, basically all the early 80's Oi! bands.
When you start being involving with skinhead subculture? Which your main influences? You follow any other culture as a young man?
I first got into skinhead subculture in early 80's as a teenager, punk was the first music I got into though after hearing the Sex Pistols in 1977.
For years you have play in some bands, talk us about your history in bands and live acts.
The first band i played in was Running Riot, I put that band together in 1996 and then left to form a band called Cut Throat who released a 4 track demo ep. Took a break from playing music for a few years then formed Mohican Jack in 2012 who released 2 CDs and played approx 60 gigs, I then put a an acoustic / Ballads project together called Acoustic Patriot. I've done 5 CDs as Acoustic Patriot and I'm recording a new album this year, I also played guitar in Tank Turret for a year.
Running Riot years:
You was the original guitarist of Runnin Riot, how start all for this band? If im right they had a more left view in social subjects, how was the time back then for you and what about your patriotic beliefs later out from them? Theres was any trouble and what about political differences with the other members?
Runnin Riot was not put together to be an Antifa band. The band went that way after I left the band when other members joined.
You had also an underground and not so popular streetpunk band called Mohican Jack, give us more details about this, releases, gigs etc. Any future plans for this band?
Mohican Jack were formed in 2012, we were a non PC punk band, we recorded two albums and played approx 60 gigs. There are no plans to reform the band at the minute but who knows in the future.
Mohican Jack years:
Last years you play acoustic ballads and you upload it on internet...some more infos? You had any plans for Acoustic Patriot project? What about the covers in Skrewdriver songs and other covers in general?
I have put out 5 CDs as Acoustic Patriot and played a few gigs. CDs are a mixture of Skrewdriver and my own songs, I am recording a new studio album this year with a few guests playing on it there will be a few covers but will mainly be my own songs.
Cut Throat years:
You made also some books about the scene in your area. More details please. More interest subjects of this book? How somebody can order it? To be continue this?
I put together a book called Oi! and Skinheads in Northern Ireland mainly to document the skinhead subculture in Ulster in the early 80's. I working on a more indepth Part 2 to the book, no more copies of the book are available, it wasn't really done to sell a lot books, more to document the main players who never got the credit they deserved.
What about your city and your country? What about the scene there? Your oppinion in general?
There is not much of a scene in Belfast, most people who are into R.A.C are the diehards from the early 80's, it would be good to see some new blood coming into the subculture.
You play for a while also with an old Skrewdriver bassist & Tank Turret. What about this experience and why you stop?
Yes I played in Tank Turret with Frenchie from Skrewdriver for a year, played a few gigs, not much else to say about it. I want to concentrate on my own material now as I want the new Acoustic Patriot album to be my best musical release to date.
Musical influences in general? What about Ian Stuart?
Skrewdriver and Ian Stuart are major music influences to me and also Stigger, also into everything from Rose Tattoo to old school Country like Merle Haggard.
With Tank Turret:
You read books or fanzines? What about religion?
I mainly read history and true crime books. I don't believe in organized religion but hope that a God exists, if that makes sense.
Thank you very much for your time! Last words?
Thanks for asking me to do the interview brother, it means a lot. I'd also like to thank anyone that has supported Acoustic Patriot in the last few years, bought a CD or a t-shirt and came to a gig, final words - FUCK FENCE SITTER BANDS & FUCK ANTIFA!!
