SKINHEAD MAGAZINE (Spain) review:
No Surrender 'The tragedy that few feel'
Last year the most prolific and traditional band from the Greek scene released a new album again...I have already lost count of the No Surrender CDs that are in my nightclub. On this occasion the Hellenic team, made up of three people, brings us a work with thirteen own songs, some sung in English and others in Greek, but what defines this band is its classic RAC sound, which like the voice of its vocalist is particular and genuine. Just by listening to a small section of a song I know that I am dealing with one of its songs.
The compact is introduced by a musical wedge and 'Ride the tiger', a melodic theme sung in Greek that gives way to one of my favorite songs for its rhythmic 'Those who did not betray', whose lyrics include parts of several poems by F Barlas and that I think has a historical context, perhaps like other songs like 'Ancestors' or 'N-S-D'. The central part offers us two songs, for my taste, 'Lets fly high' and the very fast and catchy 'Helen the feminist', which together with extensive and rocker 'Antifa police' and 'Freedom' perhaps close the current themes, since 'Modus operandi' is a fun theme about horror movies whose sound and chorus of 'I'll become for you' is highly catchy. Musically the album is impeccable, it shows that these guys perfectly master their instruments.
The front cover dedicated to Heraclitus. The libretto is made up of twelve pages, in the first of which the color black predominates to give way to others in grayish tones whose drawings are introducing the theme of the lyric, which are all translated into English and are in red on black. Last page with photos of the group members and clarifications of the recording. The compact is produced by the Hungarian label Nordic Sun for the first time for the band. Surely we are facing the best and most complete work of No Surrender. You can buy it for just ten euros at https://nsbp.shop/.../no-surrender-the-tragedy-that-few.../ Thanks to Albert for his friendship and for my copy of the CD.
